It goes without saying that consumers want packaging that does not influence the taste or smell of the food. Not all pulps are suitable for food board production, but our high-quality CTMP pulp Spring offers high cleanliness, bulk and rigidity with low weight – valuable properties for food packaging manufacturers.

Rottneros CTMP pulp offers high levels of cleanliness, strength and rigidity at low weight.

We are expanding to increase the capacity of mechanically produced pulp at Rottneros Mill.

Production

Woodchips are pre-treated with chemicals at an elevated temperature. As the chips pass between rotating grinding discs, the fibers can be separated from one another.
The pulp is flash-dried to give it an open structure and then baled. Up to 95% of the wood can be recovered when producing CTMP.

Mechanical pulp makes it possible to produce a thicker, and therefore more rigid, cartonboard from the same amount of raw material.
