Rottneros updates its long-term targets

Rottneros’ vision to “Always make a difference" is further enhanced by adding environmental targets to the previously communicated sustainability targets. From 2021 emissions to water (COD) and fossil-free production (CO2) will be added as long-term targets, with the ambition to continuously reduce our environmental impact.

Rottneros is part of the circular economy and contributes with wood-based, renewable and recyclable products. Emissions of fossil carbon dioxide from the pulp mills in Vallvik and Rottneros come mainly from fossil fuels and the purchase of electricity. In line with this, Rottneros has set the target of achieving fossil-free production by 2030. During 2021 the Group will develop an action plan for how the production units shall reach the target.

Rottneros' long-term target, to continuously reduce emissions to water, is also included in the external reporting of targets from 2021.
