ROTTNEROS SILVIPAK SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH LEADING PACKAGING WHOLESALER

Aristo, which is Scandinavia’s leading manufacturer and wholesaler of cartons and paper items for the restaurant and patisserie sector, has until now supplied packaging made of aluminium and plastic. The agreement-in-principle means that in the longer term these will largely be replaced by Rottneros SilviPak, which is considerably more environmentally friendly because the products are based on cellulose fibres that originate from a renewable raw material and are also compostable.

“The collaboration with Aristo will take us into the catering sector, a market that we would have had difficulty reaching otherwise,” says Joakim Stockhaus, Vice President Rottneros Packaging.

“SilviPak is an interesting alternative to traditional packaging made of aluminium and plastic,” says Mats Ohlsson, President of Aristo AB. “The packaging has a number of valuable properties. In addition to its high environmental values, it also has very good insulating properties for both hot and cold food.”

Rottneros Packaging was established in spring 2006 and until now has focused on supplying packaging products to producers of ready meals. Some time ago a collaboration was announced with Corner Sweden, a manufacturer of food vending machines, in respect of the supply of packaging.

“We are approaching companies such as Aristo and Corner as a complement to our other business, so that we can get out into the market faster than if we were only to address major food producers,” says Joakim Stockhaus.
