Nykvist Skogs since 1979

Deeply rooted n Gräsmark, we support our local forest owners and nurture long-term relationships. Co-operation with Rottneros has strengthened our position and interest in our timber is steadily increasing. Through co-operation with local contractors, we currently employ over 50 people.
We look forward to continuing to grow together.

Our roots in forestry service

In 2020 , Nykvist Skogs AB was sold to Rottneros AB. Operations continue as usual, but the sale also gives Nykvist Skogs greater opportunities to grow and consolidate its position as one of the major players in the forestry industry in Värmland.

Pär Skinnargård continues as CEO of Nykvist Skogs, while the founder and co-owner Sven Nykvist chooses to spin off part of the business into his own company. Lina Edin becomes Vice President and COO. More new staff responsible for forest management and timber procurement are hired.

2017: After a few years of growth, employees were hired with responsibility for planning and timber procurement, while we increased our presence in Västra Värmland.

2010: A harvester machine, a Timberjack 1270 D, was added to the fleet and several machine operators now worked at the company.

2004: Slowly but surely, the company grew and our staff with it. Amongst other things, Lina Edin was hired to be in charge of finances and payments to forest owners.

1998: A thinning harvester was purchased and since then, the volume of thinning has increased every year.

1996: The business became increasingly focussed on timber trading when Pär Skinnargård became a partner. Timber procurement remains at the core of the business, along with various forestry operations.

1992: Nykvists also started procuring timber to maintain a more consistent level of operations throughout the year. Timber was felled and sold to the forest industry.

1979: Nykvist Skogs was founded in Gräsmark by the brothers Lennart and Sven Nykvist. The focus was on the harvesting of rootstocks and felling assignments for various sawmills.
